Hi friends!
This sweet little sunflower card is Project #1 from this week’s Weekly Card Class, and I have to tell you… I’m kind of in love with how it turned out. Sometimes a card just comes together in that simple, happy way—and this one definitely did.
When I was planning the projects for this week's class using the Pop-Up Petals Bundle, I was browsing the samples on my website, and one caught my eye right away. The layout was just so good! I decided to use it as my starting point and then change a few things to make it my own. That’s one of my favorite things about crafting—you can take an idea that inspires you and give it your own little twist.
I started with a Crumb Cake card base, which gives the card such a warm, natural feel. Then I layered on a piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper. That woodgrain texture is amazing and works perfectly with the sunflower theme. For the focal layers, I used the Perennial Postage Dies to cut two panels—one from Crumb Cake cardstock and one from Basic White. The Crumb Cake panel was embossed with the Everyday Plaid Embossing Folder, and oh my goodness… that texture behind the focal panel is so good. It adds interest without taking attention away from the flowers.

Of course, I didn’t forget the inside! I added a layer of Basic White cardstock and stamped a small sunflower in the lower right corner. It’s colored with Lemon Lolly and Crumb Cake ink along with Lemon Lolly and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends for a sweet little finishing touch. Supplies for this card can be found here!
