You Make Life Better - Pop-Up Petals

Thursday, March 12, 2026

Hi friends! Today I’m sharing another project from this week’s Weekly Card Class using the Pop-Up Petals Bundle, and this one has a really fun surprise inside. At first glance, it looks like a sweet, simple card… but when you open it up, the little pop-out box filled with flowers appears in the center. Are you kidding me?! It’s such a fun detail and makes the card feel extra special.

I started with a Crumb Cake card base, and before decorating the front I used the largest pop-out die from the Pop-Up Petals dies to create the pop-out mechanism right in the center of the card. This die makes the interactive element so easy, and it’s always a fun little surprise when someone opens the card.

To decorate the inside pop-out box, I used the filler image from the sunflower center and stamped it repeatedly to create that cute polka-dot texture on the little box. It adds just enough detail without overwhelming the flowers popping out of it.

For the vase image on the front, I stamped it with Secret Sea ink and stamped off first to create a softer look. The flowers and leaves were stamped with Early Espresso ink, which gives everything a nice crisp outline.

Then came the fun part—coloring the flowers! I used Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, and Lemon Lolly ink to bring the blooms to life, and colored the leaves with Old Olive ink. The mix of colors gives the arrangement a soft, cheerful look that pairs perfectly with the designer paper.

Speaking of that paper… I used a 3" x 5 1/4" piece of Brush With Beauty Designer Series Paper to cover the spine of the card base. I love how that brush-stroke pattern adds a bold splash of color and texture to the design.

For the main focal panel, I layered Calypso Coral cardstock with Basic White cardstock, then stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink at the bottom of the panel. The vase and flower image were added with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little dimension.

Before attaching the panel to the card front, I wrapped linen thread around the piece and tied a bow. It’s a small detail, but it adds that soft, handmade touch that I always love.

Once everything was in place, I popped the entire panel up on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and finished the card with a sprinkle of embellishments for just a little sparkle.

And of course, the real star of the show is when you open the card and see that little pop-out box of flowers in the center. Stop it… It’s so cute!
