We’re back with Card 2 from this week’s Coffee & Cards class, and this one might be my favorite of the bunch! I had so much fun layering the Designer Series Paper and building up that sweet pear focal point—it’s a simple card, but it has a lot of charm.
Miss the live class? No worries! You can watch the full replay right here and follow along at your own pace. I walk you through each step so you can create this card with confidence—even if you're crafting in your PJs!
You can fast forward to the 33:45 mark to catch the full tutorial for this card.
You’ll find the measurements and supply links for this card at the bottom of the post.
I started with a Basic Beige card base and layered two different pieces of the Painterly Pears DSP right onto the front. This paper does so much of the heavy lifting—it’s bold, vibrant, and has such a cozy, organic feel.
Next, I die-cut the leafy branch from Basic Beige cardstock using the Perfectly Pears dies. To give it some extra life, I used a blending brush with Old Olive ink to add soft color to the leaves. I love how this gives a subtle variation without being too bold.
For the pear, I stamped the outline in Early Espresso, then added color with a sponge dauber—Darling Daffodil and Petal Pink for the pear, and a little extra Old Olive for the leaves. I love how blending inks before stamping gives it that hand-painted, watercolor look!
For the inside, I kept it simple but cute—just a piece of Basic White cardstock with a little cluster of pears stamped in the corner. It’s the perfect spot to write a kind note to a friend.
This card came together so beautifully, and it really shows how much you can do with just a few well-placed layers and a little ink blending. I hope it inspires you to pull out your supplies and get creative!
