Coffee & Cards Storybook Moments Card No. 2

Thursday, September 25, 2025

Hey Friend! Today, I’m sharing another fun card we created during Coffee & Cards, and this one was a lot of fun to put together. I pulled out my blends, did a little masking, and ended up with this sweet garden-inspired design.

If you’ve never joined me for Coffee & Cards, I’d love for you to stop by! I go live every Tuesday at 10 AM Central on Facebook and YouTube—it’s the perfect mid-morning creative break.

You’ll find the replay for this card linked at the end of this post.

Here’s a look at the finished card. I started with a Mossy Meadow card base and layered on a piece of Early Espresso cardstock for a nice, rich frame. Next, I added a layer of Perfectly Plaid Designer Series Paper, which gave the card a subtle touch of pattern and texture without taking away from the stamped images.

On top, I added a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped the carrots, cabbage, and clay pots using Memento Black Ink. To get the overlapping look, I used the masking technique; such a fun and easy way to build a scene! Then I pulled out my Stampin’ Blends and added color: Pecan Pie for the clay pots, Blackberry Bliss for the cabbage, Timid Tiger for the carrots, and Old Olive for the leafy greens. The finishing touch was a hand-drawn border using the Stampin’ Journaling Pen.

For the sentiment, I turned to the Mixed Labels Bundle. I stamped “Your Kindness Made My Day!” in Early Espresso Ink and die-cut it with the banner shape from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Behind the sentiment, I tucked in a little Linen Thread for texture and popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish off the design, I added a few Antique Pearls—because what’s a handmade card without a little shine?

This one makes me smile every time I look at it—it feels like a little peek into a garden on a sunny day. I hope this card inspires you to try some masking and coloring in your own projects. If you’d like to create it yourself, you can find all the supplies in my online store, and don’t forget to catch the video replay for step-by-step instructions. Until next time, happy stamping!
