Simply Zinnia & Perennial Postage

Hey everyone! I’m excited to share the final project in the Simply Zinnia Series today! This one's my absolute favorite. If you want to check out the other projects, just head over here: Paper Crafting Friday and the first Bonus card.

Alright, so for this card, I started with a Pumpkin Pie cardstock base and layered it with a 4-⅛ by 5-⅜ piece of Lemon Lolly cardstock. Then, I added a bit of flair with some Pumpkin Pie and Lemon Lolly pollen-patterned designer paper from the Flowering Zinnias DSP.

Next up, I grabbed the second-largest die from the Perennial Postage set to cut out the base layer for the zinnia flower. I used a blending brush to dab some pool party ink on the top and bottom edges, giving it a nice gradient effect with granny apple green ink.

Now, onto the flower itself! I used a several of the Simply Zinnia dies to cut out different pieces from cardstock in shades like Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, and Granny Apple Green. Then, I pieced them together like a puzzle and glued them down with Multi-Purpose glue.

     

Once the flower was done, I arranged the leaves and stem on the Perennial Postage die-cut piece and glued them down. Then, I added some dimension by popping the flower up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

To add a little rustic touch, I wrapped some linen thread around the Perennial Postage layer and tied a neat bow before gluing it down onto the card base.

For the sentiment, I stamped "gratitude" on a strip of white cardstock, punched the end with a banner punch, and attached it to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.

And hey, can't forget about the inside of the card! I lined it with a piece of Basic White (Thick) cardstock and used up some leftover DSP because, seriously, who wants a naked card, right? 😂

Card Base: 4-1/4” X 11” scored and folded at 5-1/2”

Lemon Lolly CS: 4-1/8” X 5-3/8” 

Designer Paper: 4 X 5 1/4” 

Basic White CS (Sentiment): 1” X 4-1/8” 

Perennial Postage Die: 3-1/4” X 4-1/2” 

INSIDE CARD:

Basic White (thick) CS: 4” X 5-1/4”

DSP: 3/4”X4”

SIMPLY ZINNIA

Hey there, Happy Monday, everyone! Today, I've got another card to show you featuring the Simply Zinnia Suite. I CASED this card from Lisa Althouse, LAStamper. The Flowering Zinnia Designer Series Paper steals the show on this one. There's just endless potential with this pack of Designer papers. I have a feeling it's creeping up the ranks to become one of my top favorites.

For this card, I started with a Petal Pink cardstock base and topped it with a 4-⅛ x 5-⅜ Basic White card front. Then, I added a piece of the Petal Pink/white polka dot designer paper from the Flowering Zinnias DSP. Using the Stylish Shapes dies, I cut out a circle of flowers from the reverse side of the polka patterned paper and popped it onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To add the sentiment, I used the Sweety Scripted stamp set and stamped "happy birthday" with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Then I punched both ends of the sentiment with the Banner Punch. I popped it onto the circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little extra dimension.

I ensued the banner stayed nice and even on the card by placing a glue dot in the center and one on each side. For a final touch, I added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels and a bow made Linen Thread, come on, who doesn't love a bit of sparkle?

I spruced up the inside of the card with a piece of Basic White (Thick) CS and a leftover piece of the DSP, because who likes a basic card? 😂

Card Base: 5-½” X 8-½” scored and folded at 4-¼”

Basic White Thick: 4-⅛” X 5-⅜” 

Designer Paper: 4 X 5 ¼”

DSP Circle: 3-⅛” or the largest circle from the Stylish Shape Dies

Basic White CS (Sentiment): ¾” X 3-½” 

INSIDE CARD:

Basic White (thick) CS: 4’ X 5-¼”

DSP: ¾”X4

Paper Crafting Friday - Simply Zinnia

Hello everyone! Thank you for joining me yesterday for our Online Paper Crafting Class.  It’s been a while since we have had a class and I’ve missed you!  This week I used the Simply Zinnia bundle and DSP.  I love the designer paper that coordinates with this bundle.  It’s so bright and fun! My first card lets the Flowering Zinnia Designer Series Paper take the stage.  This is an easy card, and you can create 6 cards from this one sheet of 12x12 paper ~ of course you’d need to add the card bases 😂

The second card is a tad monochromatic, using only Melon Mambo and Real Red.  I used the large Zinnia stamp as the focal point of this card and layered it on a white background so the color of the image would pop. And that cute gingham bow, I just love it!

The last card is a bit more detailed. I colored the images with Stampin’ Write markers and heat embossed the sentiment.  

The thing I like the most about Zinnias is that they come in such a variety of colors, and they bloom from spring until the first winter frost. All the bright colors mixed together, it's just so happy!
